Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking about a G.I.Joe figure I did not have as a kid but he is one of my favorite cold weather characters, ‘Sub-Zero‘. Sub-Zero came out in 1990 just on the tail end of my Joe days as a kid. When I started collecting, Sub-Zero was a figure I bought off eBay complete. I like the uniform he has and there is a good number of weapons and accessories that comes with this figure. Surprisingly there is only 1 other version a dark blue one from 1993. I…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘The Career of David Prowse’ by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , 0 comment

The world of Star Wars lost another long-time cast member David Prowse. David of coarse was the original Darth Vader and spoke every part in the original 1977 movie, but later was dubbed over with James Earl Jones’ voice. David who was a bodybuilder and stood 6 feet 6 inches was cast for Vader to show his physical overpowering appearance, but his voice was not as deep as Lucas wanted. David also tried out for Superman and actually became Christopher Reeves’ trainer when Chris landed the roll. Many other rolls David was close on landing…

G.I.Joe ‘Iceberg’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking about an original 1986 G.I.Joe character, ‘Iceberg’. This is one that my younger brother got for Christmas but somehow I ended up taking him as my own. Iceberg was a winter soldier who grew up in Texas and he hated the heat and became a winter survival trainer. Iceberg was a staple character in the cartoon and was featured in at least one episode that I can recall. This is a great looking figure and I loved him as a kid. He came with a really cool…

‘G.I.Joe Detonator’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into the 1993 G.I.Joe Cobra Detonator. This is a large vehicle packaged with the Nitro-Viper. This is the only figure in the 82-94 run to come without a file card. The figure itself looks cool and may be a bit bright for some of the Joe fans but I think it looks pretty cool. The vehicle is a pretty good size vehicle with a large foam missile on top and a gnarly looking ram cage on the front. The vehicle holds 6 sitting and…
