G.I.Joe ‘Med-Alert’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

September 3, 2020September 3, 2020 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out another G.I.Joe medic, the 2006 character Med Alert. I bought this figure at TRU and passed up the 2006 Cover Girl because money was tight back then. When I saw this figure it was really cool and I thought he would look great next to Lifeline. Med Alert didn’t have a lot of accessories, but I loved his removable helmet and that was a huge selling point for me. I’m not sure if this character was ever used in a cartoon or comic, but it’s…

G.I.Joe ‘Stretcher’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

September 2, 2020September 2, 2020 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out a 1990 G.I.Joe figure that doesn’t get much attention. Stretcher is one of those characters that wasn’t used much in the cartoon if at all. I’m not sure but it looks like he may have appeared in the comics but I’m not sure about that either. I did not have Stretcher as a kid so my love started for him as a collector. There are a lot of colors in his uniform but the figure has a nice look to it. His hat really…

August 31, 2020August 31, 2020 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting, toy photography0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m bringing the end of an era. G.I.Joe had reigned number 1 in 1980’s toys. The characters, figures, and vehicles left an impression so large that today there are millions of collectors. I think back of some of my favorite years such as 1985 and wonder where the time went. So many awesome figures and vehicles but the memories created with my brothers and friends and the people I have met in the collecting world is the reason I love G.I. Joe so much. 1989 was a…

G.I.Joe ‘Slipstream’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

August 30, 2020August 30, 2020 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, toy collecting0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into another G.I.Joe Pilot and this is another one I love and perhaps the replacement for Ace. When 1986 rolled around G.I.Joe was in full stride. The characters were being cranked out and along with them came figures and vehicles. The Conquest is another one of my favorite jets. I had one as a kid and I have 1 modern one and several 1986 shells with one in pretty good shape. With this awesome jet came another one of my favorite figures. The 1986 Slip-Stream just has a killer…
