This would lead Brown to Syracuse University where he was an all star running back. His number 44 is retired along side other greats Ernie Davis and Floyd Little who also wore 44 at SU. Last week we lost a sports icon. Martin Edward Schottenheimer was born Sept 23rd 1943 in Canonsburg, PA. Marti spent 6 years playing in the NFL and coached from 1974 to 2011. 21 of those years he was a head coach in the NFL. Marti was drafted to the Buffalo Bills in 1965 as a linebacker and won the AFL championship with them.
