‘G.I.Joe Retro Line’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. There is a lot of buzz going around about a new vintage line of G.I. Joe coming. This I’m half excited for right now. I would love to see the original straight arm line up released, but if not those then maybe some of the hard to find or hard to find figures that are not discolored. The original Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow come to mind right off the bat. These would be awesome releases as Stormy is often very yellowed and the original line up are getting brittle…

‘G.I.Joe NIGHT RAVEN’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m going to get into the 1986 G.I.Joe Cobra Night Raven. This is one of the greatest jets ever made. The Strato Viper is an awesome figure and this was a staple vehicle in the cartoon and even had an episode that focused on Slip Stream and a crashed Strato Viper. This is a vehicle I really wanted as a kid. I was 11 when it came out and I helped my father build a huge fireplace over the summer that year. It was long days mixing cement…

‘G.I.Joe Desert Humvee’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking about another 2005 vehicle and checking out the G.I. Joe Desert Humvee. This is one of my all time favorite vehicles and I don’t think this gets talked about a lot or certainly not enough credit is given to this vehicle. This is a realistic looking G.I. Joe vehicle but it still screams Yo Joe. This vehicle is pretty sturdy and will fit 4 figures inside plus one on the top mount gun. It has rubber tires which is an awesome feature on this vehicle. The…

G.I.Joe ‘2005 Moray’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m sticking with vehicles and checking out the 2005 G.I. Joe Moray Hydrofoil. This is the classic Cobra Moray with a new paint job for the G.I. Joe team. This comes with Night force Flint and Beachhead. Both of these figures are really cool figures and I had kit bashed them years ago, but recently I put them back together and realized just how cool they are. This was the first Moray I ever owned so this was very cool when I got it. I love the colors and the…

G.I.Joe ‘Battle Below Zero’ Reviewed By Mitchell Smith!

Today I’m diving into the 2014 G.I.Joe 50th Anniversary Battle Below Zero set that came with Cobra Wolf and Ghost Hawk. This is one I sprang for and I’m happy I did. The Wolf is what sold me on it but the Ghost Hawk is cool as well. This has a Snake Eyes that looked cool but after so many different Snake Eyes I wasn’t really interested in this figure, but the Ice Viper is really nice. This figure was very true to the original and both Ice Vipers are 2 of my favorite…

G.I.Joe ‘DREADNOK DOOM CYCLE’ Reviewed By Mitchell Smith!

Today we are talking the 2010 G.I.Joe Dreadnok Doom Cycle with Storm Rider. This is one I picked up. This one is pretty cool. The is similar to the classic Dreadnok 3 wheeler from 1987. Storm Rider is a really cool figure and too bad he never made it into a cartoon, at least I don’t believe he did. This is a really cool Dreadnok and he looks great with some of the classics such as Buzzer, Ripper, and Torch. I know I have neglected this figure myself and I need…

G.I.Joe ‘1989 Deep Six’ Reviewed By Mitchell Smith!

Today I want to discuss the 1989 G.I.Joe Deep Six. This is such a great figure. The colors and the removable helmet are just Awesome on this figure. I actually have several of this one and it is a great army building deep sea diver. Heads are easily swapped and the helmet fits perfectly with many other figures. The air pack with this figure has a lot of detail and he also comes with a unique gun. I thought this one would have been a prime choice for a modern update…

‘G.I.Joe DOC’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost, today I’m sticking with 3-3/4 inch G.I.Joe characters. Doc was the original medic on the Joe team from 1983. The Original Doc figure came with a stretcher, a flare launcher, and a tan removable helmet that was unique to the other helmets we were used to seeing from 1982. Doc has had a couple upgrades but the best one was the 2008 modern style Doc. This was an upgrade to his original figure and this one was a mail away version. I’m sure this brought back many feelings of growing…

‘G.I.Joe Shooter’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m diving into a modern character that could have been an original 1982 G.I.Joe character. ‘Shooter‘ was one figure I let slip away from me, and I still do not have one of her but someday I think it would be nice to own. This is a pretty unique character especially because the mysteries character appeared in a lineup of Joes in the original comic, but the character was never created for the photo until years later. Originally Snake Eyes was created as a generic solid color figure to…

G.I.Joe ‘Stalker’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Today I want to get into one of the original G.I.Joe characters and one of my all time favorites, Stalker. This is an awesome character who comes with an extended backstory linked to Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Stalker was a unique character and the only one to sport camo in the original line up. I had the swivel arm version as a kid that I got second handed so it wasn’t till around 1985 that I got my first Stalker. I did get the 1989 version 2 of him…

G.I.Joe ‘HISS II’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m talking one more tank. The G.I.Joe Cobra H.I.S.S. II. This is one I had as a child and it was one really cool tank. It was a little bit bigger which allowed this to be a tank and a personnel carrier for Cobra. This tank holds 2 in the cockpit, one in the top cannon, and 4+ figures can go in the rear. This was a cool design. Rather then the cockpit opening from the top it opens from the bottom. The cannon is really…

‘COBRA H.I.S.S.’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. I’m sticking with G.I.Joe tanks again today but this time I’m going to get into the Cobra Hiss. This was a beautiful design. The Hiss looks really bad-ass and non like the Mobat it holds multiple figures. One in the cockpit, one in the signature double cannon, and 2 standing on the rear. The Hiss was introduced in 1983 and has been a staple in the Cobra Lineup. The mold has been used many times over the years in different colors and in modern 25th style. This is just…

G.I.Joe M.O.B.A.T. Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the outpost. I’m going to roll back the clock to 1982 today. Steeler and the 1982 G.I.Joe Mobat are both awesome. Steeler has a very unique helmet attachment and the motorized Mobat was pure gold back in 1982 and still holds up today 38 years later. A relatively simple design brought a lot of happiness and joy to millions who were fortunate enough to have one of these as a kid. The Mobat was used extensively in the cartoon and the comics. If you needed a punch to battle Cobra, Steeler and…
