The Best Place on the Internet: Checking In Again

By Destro Designs – Viper Den Studios
Today, I wanted to take a minute to talk about what I genuinely believe is the best place on the internet.
Everyone who knows me knows just how incredibly proud I am of this Twitter community and all the greatness that comes with it.
My family and my business are the only two things in this world that I’m more proud of than this community. And that should tell you something.
I’ve said all of this before, but as our community continues to grow, with roughly two dozen more people showing up and showing out for one another every single day, I felt it was time to acknowledge just how special this whole thing has become. I recently sent out another half-dozen care packages, and seeing that same spirit of generosity spreading throughout our community has been absolutely incredible.
Brother @calel-327 has started creating custom figures of members of our community, and it’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I even wrote an entire article highlighting his work and the selfless act of creating these customs for people. The man is cranking out five a week! Five! That’s the kind of dedication and generosity that makes this community unlike anything else out there.
Then there’s brother @animuslevels, who is getting ready to launch an entirely new series of absolutely amazing G.I. Joe artwork. I’m telling you right now, this stuff is going to blow everyone’s fucking socks off. Hell, it might take the whole goddamn leg with it! His talent is simply that incredible. He’s the most amazing artist I’ve ever personally known and, in my opinion, by far the best artist in our community. What he has coming is going to be something truly special.
And, of course, there’s my brother Mark Fogarty.
Mark continues to put together amazing shows highlighting the very best of the things we all love, while somehow managing to be an even more amazing human being. He’s become one of my favorite people in the world, and I’ve grown closer to him than I have to many of my friends in real life.
Now, I’m going to tease something here, because I simply can’t help myself.
Mark has something cooking right now that, if it comes together, is going to shock the absolute living hell out of all of you. He told me about it yesterday, and all I could say was, “Holy shit!”
We’re still waiting on that final thumbs-up, so I can’t reveal anything just yet. But stay tuned, y’all. If you thought some of the interviews we’ve been doing lately had serious star power, just wait until you see what might be coming next. I’m incredibly hopeful that everything falls into place.
Fuck. Yes.
I also want to take a moment to recognize the very place you’re reading this article.
Serpentor’s Lair has done an outstanding job of highlighting the people who make this community special and spreading some much-needed positivity across the internet. Adam recently joined us on the show, and I think everyone got a chance to see the man behind the Lair. The response was incredible, and it was wonderful seeing the community embrace him even more.
And while we’re talking about Adam, please take a moment to send some love and encouragement his way. Mrs. Lair continues to fight a difficult battle, and every prayer, kind word, and show of support matters. That’s what this community is all about. We celebrate together, but we also stand together when life gets difficult.
Every single day, I see people encouraging one another, lifting each other up, and offering genuine support without expecting anything in return.
People are checking in on each other. They’re sending gifts, sharing artwork, promoting one another’s projects, celebrating accomplishments, and showing extraordinary generosity.
And every time I see it, I smile.
Sometimes, I’ll just scroll through my feed and bask in the glory of what this whole thing has become. What started as a simple idea has grown into something far greater than I could have imagined.
The best place on the internet.
And I don’t say that lightly.
The internet can be a miserable place. It’s filled with arguments, negativity, division, and people who seem determined to tear each other down. But somehow, we’ve managed to build something different. Something that reminds me of what the internet was supposed to be in the first place.
A place where people with shared passions can come together, build friendships, celebrate creativity, and genuinely give a damn about one another.
That’s what we’ve created here.
And like I said, I’m so damn proud of it.
I want to thank every single one of you who was here in the beginning. Those of you who believed in what I was trying to build, who bought into the idea, and who helped turn that vision into something real.
You believed in what I was selling, and you helped bring it to life.
But I also want to thank everyone who has joined us along the way. Every person who shows up, supports someone else’s work, sends a kind message, shares a post, offers encouragement, or simply checks in to make sure a friend is doing okay.
YOU are the people who keep the wheels turning.
I may have come up with the idea, but it takes every single one of us to make it work.
And that’s the most important part of all of this.
This community doesn’t belong to one person. It belongs to all of us. Its success isn’t measured by follower counts, impressions, or how many people see a particular post. It’s measured by the friendships we’ve built, the people we’ve helped, and the positive impact we’ve made on each other’s lives.
That’s something worth being proud of.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I love all you motherfuckers.
And you can bet your ass I’ll be talking about all of this on Saturday night’s show. We’re going to have one big-ass community shout-out, because the people who make this place special deserve to be recognized.
Until then, keep supporting one another. Keep creating. Keep encouraging. Keep showing up and showing out.
Because we’re not done building this thing. Not even close.
Weapons up. We’re storming the mountaintop.
Together.
