G.I.Joe ‘Sins of Our Fathers’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out a classic G.I.Joe Cartoon episode from 1986. “Sins of Our Fathers”. This was one of my favorite seasons. In this episode Dial-Tone is sent into Cobra Territory. What he does not realize is he was tricked by General Hawk and Flint to believe he is being released by the Joe team so Cobra will hire him and not be able to detect it’s a covert operation. So Dial-Tone ends up resurrecting this giant creature who is sent to destroy Serpentor by Cobra Commander. In the end…

G.I.Joe ‘2012 Vehicles’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today we are discussing G.I.Joe 2012 vehicles. G.I.Joe was riding the Coattails of the live action movies, and soon would go through a major change. The world itself was going through a change and soon online purchasing would become the norm. The Retaliation vehicles hit stores and first up is the Cobra Fangboat. This is a version of the original Water Moccasin and it is one I have, but I still love the original better. The Ghost Hawk II is a cool jet. I passed on this one when it came out,…

G.I.Joe ‘Snake Eyes, Stalker and Storm Shadow Comicbook 3pk’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out one of my favorite G.I.Joe Comic 3 packs that I do not own. The 2006 Lonzo Wilkinson, Tommy Arashikage, and classified. These are 3 characters that go so far back, way before G. I. Joe was established. As most of us know Storm Shadow , Snake Eyes, and Stalker all served together in the Vietnam war. The 3 have a long history and although I have never read this issue I do know a lot of the back story on the 3. This comic 3…

G.I.Joe ‘2011 Vehicles’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today we are discussing 2011 G.I.Joe vehicles. First up are some Ross exclusives that I was never able to get my hands on. The Desert Rockslide A.T.A.V. is a tan version of the original and looks pretty cool, but I don’t see this one being effective in the sand. The Lava Pod is a Mole Pod cool but not much new on it. The Sand Serpent is a tan modern Night Raven. This is a cool version and probably could have been released at regular retail. The Polar…

G.I.Joe ‘Dusty’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out one of my favorite characters G.I.Joe ‘Dusty‘. The 1985 Dusty was such a cool figure and I probably passed him up for Shipwreck and Footloose but I’m not sure. I had one shot back in the day and I couldn’t buy them all. Dusty was a solid character in the cartoon and in the comics. Over the years there have been some great upgrades including the the Tiger Force that I did have and still have, the 1991 version with the beret, and one of…

G.I.Joe ‘Topside’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 2 Comments

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out 1990 G.I.Joe Topside. 1990 was a pivotal year for me. I was starting high school and my Joe days were coming to an end. Topside was one of the last figures I received and probably one of the most underrated characters. Topside has a cool look to him and past NAVY characters like Cutter and Shipwreck have fixed hats, but Topside has a removable helmet. Along with a cool rocket firing pack, his uniform was unique and full of detail. From the orange…

G.I.Joe ‘2010 Vehicles’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today we are discussing 2010 G.I.Joe vehicles. There was a good success with the Rise of Cobra movie and a second G.I. Joe movie was released, The Pursuit of Cobra. With the movie came a number of vehicles. TRU had the Rise of Cobra Sting Raider. Seeing I didn’t get the original style from 2009, I picked up this cool looking camo one. This is such a great vehicle and I wish they had released the original color to retail. The Rip Attack Jet Storm Cycle and The Tiger Snake are…

G.I.Joe ‘Ninja Combat Cruiser’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 2012 G.I.Joe Ninja Combat Cruiser. This is a vehicle I picked up and found out it was pretty cool. The vehicle mold is from the original 2010 Vamp mold. I don’t remember seeing any of the Vamps in this mold in stores until I found this vehicle. This version uses darker colors and unlike the original this has all 4 doors that open and close. This is very similar how they enclosed the original 1982 Vamp and made it even more awesome…

G.I.Joe ‘General Hawk’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m getting into an original 1982 G.I.Joe character, ‘General Hawk‘. This is one who has been around and has had many face lifts over the years. Hawk was one of my first figures I got as a kid. It came packaged with one of my favorite small vehicles the M.M.S. This a great version of Hawk and it is one I will always find special. Hawk was revamped in 1986 and blossomed into General Hawk and this is a figure I also got and I love this version as much as…

‘G.I.Joe 2021 What do you expect?’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. We pulled the E-break and slide sideways right into 2021. This week I’m not going to talk about what we have or what we had, rather I want to touch on what we want to see coming down the pipeline for G.I.Joe in 2021. 2020 made a feeble attempt to distribute 6 inch and 3-3/4 inch figures and vehicles. Surprising enough I was finally able to get an A.W.E. Striker after Christmas Grrrrrrr. First I would like to say I think the lines may have been dampened by…

‘G.I.Joe Reflection’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. All the preparation and puff it’s gone with a snap of the fingers. This year I tried to be a little more giving. Tried to help those who needed help most and the true meaning of Christmas filled my household this year. I am very blessed and I never take a moment for granted. With that said let’s get down to business. The early days of G.I. Joe were my glory days. From an early time I Loved G.I. Joe and I did…

G.I.Joe ‘Cobra Terrordrome’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Countdown to Christmas! Today I’m talking about a piece I have had the pleasure of looking at, but I have never had the pleasure of owning the G.I.Joe Cobra Terrordrome. The Terrordrome is the Cobra Base I never had. Anyone that collects Joes I think would agree that this is one of the, if not the most awesome base in the franchise. This is one of those things that may never get produced again. I would have loved to be sitting around the table with these guys when they thought up…

G.I.Joe ‘Star Brigade’ Discussion By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Tonight anyone with clear sky’s will be able to see the great conjunction. I have been fallowing Mars Jupiter and Saturn for the past several months and tonight Saturn and Jupiter will be so close they will be hard to distinguish as one. So in honor of this great phenomenon I’m going to talk about some G.I.Joe Star Brigade. Early on G.I. Joe had episodes in space, but it wasn’t till the nineties that the Star Brigade was formed. I love the exploration of space and have visited the NASA space…

‘The Best G.I.Joe Christmas Haul’ Story By Mitchell Smith!

Serpentorslair Staff, , , 0 comment

Welcome to the Outpost. Christmas is among us. This weekend I want to get into one of my favorite years and one of my largest Joe hauls as a child. 1987 was an interesting year for G.I. Joe. There had been a great success in the Joe franchise up to this point and many say that G.I. Joe had peaked and was heading down. This was the year I received the most vehicles and maybe even figures. The top vehicle I got that year was the Mobile Command Center. This is one of my all-time…
