There are lots of reviews of the 2020 G.I. Joe Classified series available. This is just a brief overview that may help answer some of your questions. If you have more questions, post them in this thread, and I’ll do my best to respond and add a picture if it is helpful.
First off, here is my Gung Ho, still in his package.
And if you want to leave him in there to keep him safe, that is perfectly fine.
I photograph figures in action, so I’ll show a few details.
Here is one side of the box, showing more of his package art. It looks pretty good!
He is number 07 in Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Classified line. The proficiency codes can be decoded online at https://gijoe.hasbro.com/en-us/filecardsystem
When you get to their website, you can navigate around and find helpful information about the characters, like this:
Here is some detail on his gear. He comes with 3 weapons, a backpack, a tactical vest, and a cap.
There are quite a few nitpicks about Gung Ho getting a “Ranger cap” instead of a “Marine cover.” I am thankful to have this figure, regardless of his gear. I am happy to have a Gung Ho, and I hope he enjoys several adventures in the future. If that does bother you, Bobby Vala is releasing a “Marine cover” with some real world weapons and accessories sometime next year.
Coming back to the vest for a little bit. The detail is really nice, and it seems familiar like the Pursuit of Cobra Recondo tactical vest. Yes, they are different scales and have different details. But the “feel” or the “vibe” seems very similar.
Next, we take a close up look at his tattoo. It was updated so as not to violate copyright with the USMC logo. But it has the “feel” of Gung Ho with a giant chest tattoo. If this bothers you, feel free to remove it when you have one in hand. There are blue color USMC tattoos in this size range available on eBay. I’m not really good with slider decals, so I think I may just leave mine as is.
Here he is, all geared up and ready to head out on a mission.
He has great neck and head articulation. And he looks good.
His pants have detailed texture to them, and a gentle camo pattern. This will help him in his missions in the swamps and in the jungle.
Time to go on a mission!
Semper Fi, Marine!
And “Now You Know” a little bit more about G.I. Joe Classified: Gung Ho.
