G.I.Joe ‘Firefly’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m skipping forward to discuss G.I.Joe FireflyFirefly was added in 1984 and quickly became a staple Cobra character. The saboteur had a very unique look and eventually went hand in hand with other popular characters such as Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. The original figure has a very cool color scheme and some awesome accessories. Firefly has a great tie in story with the Hard Master’s death and he has been a huge character over the years.

There have been many great upgrades and although the 90s figures were bright green I have the 92 and 93 figure and these are pretty cool in hand. The 2003 version 9 club exclusive is another one that has a cool new color scheme but I do not have this one. I do have the 2005 version 15, that one has a bit of a crimson guard feel and is another one that is very cool in hand. I also have the 2007 and 2008 versions of Firefly and both of these are really cool modern updates. The 2013 v25 figure has that 90s look to him and is the only unmasked version of firefly.

There is a really cool 12 inch Sideshow collectible Firefly that it a little out of my price range but this one is just pure gold. I guess there is another unmasked version if you count the Sigma Six line. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think Firefly started out in this series on the Joe team and betrayed them, or he was working undercover for Cobra and joined the Joe team to get on the inside and take them down. I think Firefly also is in the lineup for 6 inch figures coming sometime maybe.

Who know what headaches this guy will create. Over all Firefly has been a stable character and is a really cool cat as a character and all of his many figures. Which version of Firefly is your favorite? Sound off AFTER THE JUMP and let us know. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
