G.I. JOE UNDERAPPRECIATED FEATURING ‘RAVEN’!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out a G.I.Joe character from 1986 that I’m going to consider at least for me personally, the most underrated character in the franchise, ‘Raven‘. This female character was featured in episode 29 “In the Presence of Mine Enemies.” After a dogfight with Slip-Stream both he and Raven end up on an island with an abandoned Dr Mindbender lab.
Well some B.A.T.’s and a monster remained there and the 2 are forced to work together to escape the island alive. In the end Raven escapes with the Joes after realizing Cobra had no loyalty to her. The episode ends with a hint Raven would become a Joe. And it just ended there. No figure, no character development, and no other episodes. I loved this character so much I attempted to do a custom figure a few years back. When I saw the Reaction figure released I was very pleased to see her. Naturally I ordered this one on line and she is spectacular.
This one baffles me almost as much as never getting an O-ring Pythona. Hasbro had this strong female character with a super cool back story to expand on and pssssssss, it deflated and was never talked of again. I pictured Raven and Slip-Stream having some sort of romance after saving each others lives and both being pilots. There is a story there and I would love to see it expanded some day. Who loves Raven? Who is excited to see Reaction figures that we never saw in O-ring style? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below. Make sure to check back for our next discussion.
