Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m checking out the 1983 G.I.Joe vehicles as a whole. 1982 proved to be a success to the relaunch of the 12 inch G.I. Joe line and a huge part of the success was the vehicles. 1983 was a great year and they stuck with some traditional vehicles based of real military vehicles. The APC is the G.I.Joe transport. Welcome to the Outpost. 1984 featured one of the greatest G.I.Joe vehicles with the S.H.A.R.C.. What a great concept vehicle being able to fly as well as dive. This was a another staple vehicle that was used extensively in the cartoon. Although I know there are a lot of people out there who are not a huge fan of the Deep Six figure, but he was a marketing gimmick. Today I’m going to get into the G.I.Joe 1982 vehicles as a whole. Remember this was a pilot season for the 3-3/4 inch line and they were taking somewhat of a risk in producing vehicles for the figures. As a whole they hit a home run with every vehicle released that year. First the Mobat which I did an exclusive on earlier is one of the best tanks ever made. Welcome to the Outpost, Today I’m sticking with 1987 but a bit of an odd vehicle. The G.I.Joe Road Toad. This was an odd vehicle but it was one I had as a kid so I still love it. It’s a trailer, it’s a tow truck, and it’s a cannon. So it looks like this vehicle is designed to clean up damaged vehicles as it is called the Road Toad B.R.V. (battlefield recovery vehicle.)
