At the time, there was a strong symbiotic relationship between Hasbro (selling action figures, vehicles, and playsets) and Marvel, promoting toys sales, while advancing an ongoing story theme and developing characters. This year fans were treated to special guests such as the founding fathers of the G.I.Joe Brand, Kirk Bozigian, Larry Hama, and Ron Rudat.
