Hello everybody. Today am going to discuss one of my favorite actors Chris Pratt. Chris Pratt was born in 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota and has become a household name. He has done work in Everwood, The O.C. and Parks and Recreation. Pratt hit the big screen taking a page out of Harrison Ford’s book and starring in 2 major movie franchises Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy. Ford hit gold with Star Wars and Indiana Jones and those helped his tremendous career. I hope Pratt can stay in the business as long as Ford because I think he does…

Hello everybody. Today I’m taking a look at the Sega Genesis Video Game System. When Sega aimed to put out a home entertainment system, they had some obstacles to overcome. Mainly taking on the power house Nintendo who had the market on game systems. Nintendo had 8 bit games at the time so Sega developed a 16 bit system which was faster and the graphics were more realistic. The only thing Sega needed was a recognizable character that would brand the name. In comes Sonic the Hedgehog. The game was…

He was a bit of a trouble maker in his early days and ended up in St Mary’s Industrial School for boys a reformatory and orphanage. He learned to play baseball there and nobody had any idea what he would do with this. In 1914 he signed with the Baltimore Orioles which was a minor league team. Ruth soon went to the Red Sox where he was a pitcher. He was then traded to the Yankees and played…

Hello everybody. I had a chance to hit up the original Nintendo version of Legend of Zelda with my son this weekend. I remember the hours I put in as a kid trying to figure out the boards on this game. We cruised right through most of it. This is a game I loved as a kid. It was a really cool looking game, I mean the gold cartridge just sold itself. I remember back in the day playing hours on end. This is one that even my son was…

Hello everybody. Today I’m taking a look at the Netflix series ‘High Score‘. This is a 2020 Netflix original series on the the video game boom. Atari ruled the video game world back in the seventies and early eighties. Arcades were striving as teens and young adults flooded them across the globe. The series interviews various people who created some of the most memorable games and how they came up with game ideas. I only watched episode 1 but this looks like it will be interesting to watch all 6…

Hello everybody. Today I’m taking a flashback to my teen years and talking about one of the most influential companies on me in my teen years. Honda had the death trap 3 wheelers and Yamaha was the top company for 4 wheel ATVs. My father bought 2 Yamaha Big Bears around 1987 and it didn’t take long for the fire to spread. The neighborhood quickly started buying 4 wheelers and soon there were roughly 20 people in my small town who could go out the back door and go riding…

Hello all, I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Today I’m discussing the movie Saving Private Ryan. I had a chance to catch this one last week and this is such a great movie. Tom Hanks stars in this instant WWII classic. The story opens up with the Normandy beach landing known as D-Day and follows a group of soldiers through France and Germany as they look for the last remaining brother of 4. He may or may not have suffered the fate of his 3 brothers killed in action. Ryan played by Matt Damon is…

Happy Sunday all. Today we are discussing Ursula Corbero. Corbero was born in 1989 in Barcelona Spain and was interested in acting at a young age. She landed several small rolls in the early and mid 2000’s including “Mirall Trencat” and “Ventdelpla”. Then she landed a major roll playing Tokyo in the hit series “Money Heist” in 2017. She is brilliant as Tokyo and I love this series. Even though it is a bit odd because it is dubbed over, the series is really good and Corbero really brought the…

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. Today I’m getting into one of the top pop artists of this past era, Ariana Grande. Ariana Grande was born June 26th 1993. Grande started out doing local plays but her big break came when she landed the roll of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon hit show Victorious. She also had a spin off show called Sam and Cat where here and Icarly star Sam lived together. The show didn’t last long but Grande’s music career took off like…

This week was a tough week me as my father passed away at the age of 79. I have not been able to see him because distance and Covid restrictions at the VA home he was in. Growing up one of his favorite shows was Gunsmoke. The show started on the radio in 1952 and became a long running TV series from 1955-1975. I remember watching episodes of this with my dad about the old West. The major rolls were played by James Arness, Milburn Stone, Amanda Burke and Dennis Weaver.…

The Police are an English Rock band formed in London in 1977. The band consists of lead singer Sting, guitarist Andy Summers, and drummer Stewart Copeland. This was one of the most influential bands back in the late seventies and eighties. They had a number of hits including Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, and Every Breath You Take. One of my all-time favorite songs is one from their early days So Lonely. They had a very distinct sound from Sting’s vocals to the unique drum play from Copeland. Sting got his…

As a kid my nightly routine after a hard day playing outside for 12 hours, I would come in take a bath, put on my feety pajamas, and settle in to watch the Muppets and the Carol Burnett Show before going to bed. The Muppet Show dropped on Disney Plus recently and I started sifting through some of the episodes. It instantly brought me back to a simpler time. The Muppet skits themselves were quite entertaining and the guest stars were entertaining as well. I watched a few episodes and there are so many great celebrities…

Growing up in the eighties was a great time. I was a wee lad when the original Star Wars movie hit theaters in May of 1977, and I watched Star Wars for the first time on regular cable. One of the opening scenes involved what would become one of the most recognizable characters from the Star Wars franchise. Not the dark cloaked one. The white, scary, lovable, couldn’t hit the broad side of a sand crawler guys, Storm Troopers. The original Storm Troopers were really quite awesome. From head to toe Lucas made these…
