Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the 1990 G.I. Joe Locust. I did not have this as a kid and I just recently found this one in the bottomof a bin and had to order the landing skid bar. I probably havdd ex missiles for it somewhere but I’m a bit disorganized right now. This is a pretty cool little helicopter. The original retail value was around $6.95. It looks like this was briefly used in the comics and cartoon. I do…

Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to The Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the 2010-2011 GI Joe series Renegades. This is an origin, What If type series. Creators took existing Joes and created an alternate time line where the main cast are younger and every person the main 4 characters, Duke, Scarlett, Roadblock, and Tunnel Rat, come across are not part of the Joe team. At times they have an A-Team vibe to them. It’s an interesting take and a lot of different characters come into play. Likewise on…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a deep dive into to G.I. Joe Kimi Arashikage “Jinx”. Jinx was introduced in 1987 as a Joe recruit in GI Joe the Movie. She was an interesting character with a really cool figure. Jinx was the first female figure I received as a kid. She is one of my all time favorite figures. I was kind of sad when I couldn’t get her classic figure in the modern 25th style, so I did a custom figure. Not the best, but it worked…

Born on February 15, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, Morgan Lofting grew up with a love for performing arts. She studied drama at Stanford University and later earned a master’s degree in theater from the University of Southern California. Story by Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the new G.I. Joe Super7 ReAction O-ring Cover Girl. I had a chance to watch the original GI Joe mini series last week and I stumbled upon this figure at Target. I always loved the original look of Cover Girl and this figure captures her classic look perfectly. I always loved the original mini series and all the great characters that were brought alive. Story By Mitchell Smith Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m taking a look at the G.I. Joe 1988 Night Shade. This was a repaint of the original S.H.A.R.K. The Night Shade was part of the Toys R Us exclusive Night Force. I had a few Tiger Force figures and a couple vehicles growing up, but I did not have any of the Night Force. Many fans love the darker and sometimes more realistic look of the Night Force figures, but I never hear much about the vehicles. I love the…

1964’s Original G.I. Joe: The Patriotic Hero Inspired by JFK and American Nostalgia

Serpentorslair Staff, , , , , , , , , , , , 0 comment

When Hasbro released the original G.I. Joe figure in 1964, they didn’t just launch a toy—they created a cultural icon. Standing 12 inches tall and dressed in military fatigues, this groundbreaking figure represented much more than action-packed play. To American kids and parents, G.I. Joe became a symbol of patriotism, heroism, and the spirit of service that resonated deeply in a country still grappling with the effects of World War II and the Korean War. Its release also coincided with the patriotic fervor and optimism of the John F. Kennedy…
