2003 G.I.Joe Built to Rule Armadillo Assault! Welcome to the outpost. Today I’m taking a look at a vehicle I never had, the G.I.Joe Built To Rule Armadillo Assault. It looks interesting and I’m wondering what everyone thinks about this line as a whole. I do have a few of the figures I’ve found loose over the years and they don’t look to bad. I was able to find a couple videos on this one in particular, and I thought this was a pretty cool idea. From what I gather this…

G.I.Joe ‘Crimson Twins’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe out there. Tomax and Xamot have always been 2 of my favorite G.I.Joe characters. The original characters had a unique uniform, gun, and the sky hook was awesome. I didn’t get these as a kid, but my brother got them for his birthday. I’m pretty sure I played with them way more than he did. I took some string and made an extra long line for them to zip down. I still have the heads and a couple legs but these were played with…

G.I.Joe ‘Sonic Fighters Desert Apache’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

The 1992 G.I.Joe Sonic Fighters Desert Apache helicopter was a pretty cool helicopter and had a likeness to the real Apache helicopter. This is not one I had as a kid and it is not one I have ever had a chance to have in hand, but it looks pretty cool. I like the color and the overall look of this helicopter. The attachable joystick arm in the back is a cool feature and has some sound effects which as a 12 year old would have been awesome. Image Courtesy of @HCC788…

G.I.Joe ‘Sgt. Savage’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Today I’m going to take a look at another 1995 G.I.Joe launch, and much like the G.I.Joe Extreme line, it only lasted that year. As you probably know I’m speaking about the SGT. Savage line. Another line I may not have bought at retail, but I purchased these in a collection and was pleased when I found these. 1995 was during my college days so I was running around getting drunk and chasing girls, so this was a line I knew nothing about until I acquired these by chance. There wasn’t many characters in this line,…

G.I.Joe ‘Beachhead’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

Today we are looking at G.I.Joe Beachhead, one of the all time greatest Joes. Wayne Sneeden is an Army Ranger. The original 1986 was just a great figure all around. His uniform and weapons were just awesome. As a kid I never had a Beachhead figure. He was a great character and played the roll in the 1987 G.I. Joe the movie as the hard nosed drill instructor training a class of misfits. He also was a staple in the cartoon. Over the years Beachhead has had a number of upgraded figures. He…

G.I.Joe ‘Star Brigade’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

April 5, 2020April 6, 2020 Serpentorslair Staff0 comment

Today I’m taking a look at some G.I. Joe Star Brigade figures. I love the Star Brigade series and I wish they would have made more, but I want to take a closer look at the big boxy ones the ‘Armor Tech’ figures. Destro, Duke, Hawk, Heavy Duty, Rock N Roll, Robo-Joe, B.A.A.T. These did not have a ton of articulation but they were pretty cool. These were suits designed to go into deep space. They all came with an Array of weapons but one accessory I love most are the helmets.…

G.I.Joe ‘Storm Eagle’ and ‘Cobra Liquidator’ Discussion by Mitchell Smith!

The 1990’s were some interesting time for G.I. Joes. A lot of the figures and vehicles got away from a military looking style Joe, but there were still some pretty cool stuff happening, and think I appreciate the 90 stuff more now, but I was in high school in the 90s so I had gotten out of G.I. Joe and it wasn’t till later in life I rediscovered some of the great 90s stuff. Two vehicles stuck out to me and I was able to get my hands on them and…

‘G.I.Joe Extreme’ By Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to Outback’s Outpost. Today I’m going to dive into a short lived toy line, the 1995 G.I.Joe Extreme toy line. When G.I.Joe Extreme hit toy shelves, these were not the Joes we were used to having. We went from some of the best articulated figures to statues. I acquired a lot of these figures a few years back in a collection I bought. These are not something I would normally have bought from retail, but since I have them they do have some collectible value. Some of the characters developed into…

G.I.Joe ‘Tactical Battle Platform’ Reviewed by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m going to take a break from figures and review one of the greatest midsize play sets at least in my mind. The 1985 G.I.Joe Tactical Battle Platform. This was not huge so this would reach many households and still be able to display without taking over a room. I did not have one unfortunately as a kid but I did pick one up as a collector. There are so many great features on this starting at the top with the helicopter landing pad. This is…

Outback’s Outpost Discusses ’12” G.I.Joe’s’ Story by Mitchell Smith!

Welcome to the Outpost, hope you all are staying safe and sane. Today I’m going to get into the 12 inch G.I.Joe line. I was born in 75 so I had the pleasure of the 12 inch Joes which lead into the 3-3/4 inch line. The 12 inch has always been a part of my life for as far back as I can remember. I have been a collector of 12 inch for quite some time now but I missed out on a lot of great Joes. The 2008 Duke is one…

G.I.JOE Sigma Six ‘Spirit’ Review By Mitchell Smith!

March 30, 2020March 30, 2020 Serpentorslair Staffaction figures, G.I.Joe, Hasbro, Sigma Six, Spirit, Toy Reviews0 comment

Today I’m going to take a look at the 2005 G.I.Joe Sigma Six Spirit. The Sigma Six line was a bit of an acquired taste to begin with. The figures were a bit boxy and not as realistic looking as the 3-3/4 inch or the 12 inch we were accustomed to. Also for 2005 jumping into collecting figures at $15 a pop was a big jump and a big investment. Even those who bought them for their children were not all that keen on pumping that much money into a large amount of…

1982 Flash One of my all time favorite G.I. Joe’s is the 1982 Flash. This was one of the first figures I received as a child for Xmas in 1982. The Unique thing about the 1982 figures is they are the only year with with straight arms and only year to get the signature swivel arms as a 1.5 version in 1983. A feature that was added to the figures for better articulation for holding weapons and gear. Something the older generation was used to seeing with the 12 inch…
