THE POP EXPOSE – Is Empire Strikes Back The Best Star Wars Film? By Mitchell Smith

Is The Empire Strikes Back still the best Star Wars movie of all time? The Star Wars franchise has grown to a very large portion, with recent additions “Solo”, and a 4th season to “Rebels”. The line up of movies has grown a lot in recent years and we will get the 9th installment of the story started way back in 1977 when a kid set out to release his story to the world. As we all know Lucas fought to get his story on the big screen and the instant craze slingshot Lucas…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Who is the NBA’s GOAT’ By Mitchell Smith!

There have been several Super Stars and players who have been unmatched at their respective positions over the years. Many players come to mind when I think best at their position such as O’Neal, Abdul-Jabbar, and Iverson, but for 1 person to take over in the clutch and make every player around them better, and to consistently win games, championships, and fans over, only a few come to mind. Someone equally threatening on defense as they are on offence and equal on and off the court. I’m sure the few…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Happy New Year’ By Mitchell Smith!

As we enter a New Year our lives are normally ready to shed the past years turmoil and start working on new ventures, such as losing weight, working on being nicer, or generally changing something negative into a positive. We measure most thing by an immeasurable commodity. Time. One of the most precious things in our lives, some can manage it some cannot. Sure we wake up every morning to our alarm clocks and check our calendars but really if you think of it time is immeasurable, there is no…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Christmas’ by Mitchell Smith!

Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. I have had many great Christmas moments and I’m sure you have heard a couple but these are a few of my personal favorite Christmas moments. When I was little we always went to my grandparents house in Lake Placid site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics. It was always an adventure traveling through Cascade Lakes, pretty much a narrow path that cut through the mountains, it was always dark, cold, and snowing it seemed on Christmas eve. Once we…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Star Wars Death Troopers’ By Mitchell Smith!

Star Wars (Rogue One) Death Troopers A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, there was a Stormtrooper decked out in all white, and they were the coolest trooper around at the time. I am a die hard classic Star Wars fan but the modern day Star Wars is growing on me. As far as action figures go the Rogue One Death Trooper is really pretty cool and a little more sleek and stealthy looking than the original Stormtrooper. I found some 12 inch Elite figures on clearance last year at the…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘NFL Playoffs’ By Mitchell Smith!

Many NFL teams seasons came to an end last week as far as playoffs are concerned. Probably the most disappointing loss was the Green Bay Packers who in response to the lose head coach Mike McCarthy was fired. Many teams got some meaningful wins as far as finishing the season strong and working on next year such as the Cardinals who beat GB, and Giants beating the Bears for a huge win as far as their season goes, but even though it keeps their playoff hopes alive it’s probably just a moral…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘Christmas Movies’ By Mitchell Smith!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. We are sliding hard, Thanksgiving is in our dust and Christmas is fast approaching. There are many great things I love about this time of year and one is watching some of my all time favorite Christmas movies. I’m narrowing my list to my top 7 in no particular order, not to slight the many other great movies but these are simply the 7 I have to watch at least once this time of year.  – I have been told before that…

The POP EXPOSE ‘Santa Clause’ by Mitchell Smith!

Santa has been quite a popular character over the years. Kris Kringle, Jolly old St Nick., Pere Noel, Father Christmas, Many cartoons, Movies, and songs have been made based around him. Santa is the one most kids want to sit on his lap and let him know what they would like him to bring for Christmas. He might be a hero or a villain depending on whether or not a child receives that one special gift he was wishing for the most.  Then there are those Christmas Eve snow falls that sometimes can…

The POP EXPOSE ‘Thanksgiving’ by Mitchell Smith!

This is one of my favorite weeks coming up. Turkey, football, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. This is what launches the holiday season for me. I love going grocery shopping for Thanksgiving and picking up all the things you might not buy on a weekly basis, such as stuffed olives, grape leaves, and lobster tail. I also like cooking dinner or helping but I don’t mind being the head chef. Nothing like prepping a turkey and cracking a good bottle of scotch at 7 AM.  Then after enjoying a…

The POP EXPOSE ‘Star Wars Fall Figure Line’ by Mitchell Smith!

The Star Wars fall figure lineup isn’t all that bad. The Black Series 6 inch line looks solid with Bespin Han Solo and Hoth Leia being my 2 favorites, which I hope this will lead to a Bespin Luke and maybe a Yoda re-release. I’ve been holding out on the 6 inch Solo figures, but Beckett, Val, and L3-37 all look nice but again I’m holding off on this line. Rogue One’s Rio Durant has a very nice looking figure which this will probably be the rare one to find.  Also in this lineup…

The POP EXPOSE ‘Baseball Ain’t What it Used To Be’ By Mitchell Smith!

Baseball has been traced back to the 1700’s and became popular in the U.S. during the Civil War when soldiers would play to keep busy when they had down time. In the late 1800’s a professional league was formed where men got paid to play baseball. Around the beginning of the 1900’s Baseball started taking shape and the MLB was born. Times were different back then, there was no TV and going to a game was a way to relax, let loose, and probably most of all pass time. I love…

The Mega Million dollar jackpot rose to 1 Billion dollars Friday the 19th, it has been close a time or two but this is the first time its hit the Billion dollar status. WOW so what the hell would you do with that amount of cash. Have one huge ass…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘G.I. Joe Vintage Style’ By Mitchell Smith!

G.I. Joe was not the first to have a 3 & 3/4 inch figure, they were not the first to come up with scaled vehicles of a military style, and they were not the first to have a toy soldier, but they were the most creative on making figures, futuristic type vehicles that could be assembled like a model and plastic rugged enough to be played with and not be broken easily. I was looking at the 1982 Straight arm figures that I own and all the vehicles and this was…

THE POP EXPOSE ‘NFL The Changing Game’ By Mitchell Smith!

The NFL has been under the gun the last 2 years mostly due to the players kneeling to the National Anthem. If you take this aspect away nothing has really changed all that much. Football is still football, there are a handful of trouble makers and a few that create drama and public scrutiny, but most of the players get up every day go to work, have families to support, and do a lot of good for their communities. So if you were able to overlook the drama the past couple of years you…
