Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m diving into one of the greatest Cobra characters, Scrap Iron. What a great design he was. So great that most of the upgrades were just the original design with different color schemes. The original figure is classic Cobra blue with red highlight. He also has one of the coolest missile launchers for any G.I.Joe or Cobra. He was a staple in the cartoon, even though I don’t remember any episodes that revolved around him, he was always ready to fight for his team. I didn’t have this one as…

Happy Victory Day to all my Canadian G.I.Joe fans. So today I am honoring the Montreal native Backstop. Backstop is the Persuader driver. A pretty cool vehicle. Backstop was a bad ass kid. He was bored from hockey in Canada for the amount of injuries he inflicted on other players in school. His parents moved to the US where he boxed and wrestled and same thing happened he was bored from high school sports. He finally joined the Army and eventually became a Joe. Backstop has a really cool look to him. He has some…

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m going to get into another one of my favorite original G.I.Joe characters, Breaker. I did get an original Breaker as a kid. He is the original communications soldier and what made him stand out to me as a 7 year old was his mic. I believe he was the only Joe to ever have this accessory. The mic was hooked to his radio pack with the signature black hose. My older brothers were very rough on things and Breaker got lost or broken as many of our original Joes…

Today I’m going to get into another one of my favorite G.I.Joe characters, Tunnel Rat. Tunnel Rat came on strong as a recruit in the 1987 G.I. Joe The Movie. Right from the get go he was an instant hit for me. He was unconventional I guess, but he thought outside the box and made things work to his advantage. I had the original figure as a kid so this one was loads of fun setting up battle scenes and having him crawling through the mud. Nicky Lee, The Brooklyn boy is very unique and was…

Today I’m looking at one of my favorite G.I.Joe figures and favorite characters. Falcon was an instant hit for me as he was one of the main characters in the 1987 “G.I. Joe the Movie”. I think part of my love for him was he was voiced by Don Johnson. I was a huge Miami Vice fan and Don sold the character right away. The figure had an awesome uniform, back pack, and his shotgun was pure gold. The character was built around a Joe team that had become very relaxed and their…

The year 1990 was the last year I received G.I. Joes for Christmas. I was in high school so it was just a natural part of life. I cherished all the Joes I had and this was a pretty cool year for G.I. Joe. I did not see any of the cartoons from this year till many years later, so I was in deed on my way to leaving my Joes behind. I was active in sports, work, and partying so my Joe world came to an end. The last 5 Joes I…

Today I’m going to discuss one of my favorite vehicles. The 1986 G.I.Joe H.A.V.O.C. (Heavy Articulation Vehicle Ordinance Carrier.) I received this one for Christmas and it was to me, mine, mine, mine, LOL, not one of my brothers, so this was one of my favorites right from the get go for that simple fact only. Now I still have my original but it looks like it went to war. My puppy got a hold of this one and chewed the 2 main guns off the top and a few other parts…
